I can't stand the rain (remember that video with Missy Elliott in that suit?!)

So Texas hasn't had rain in ages. It could very likely be a nice state if it weren't so DRY. There is literally no green grass. I tell you what, green grass is essential to making any lawn pretty...I don't dig dry & brittle brown grass.

It's supposed to rain the last 2 days I am here. If Texas didn't need it so bad, I would be disappointed. It's like people around here are Native Americans and wanting to do rain dances to assure the rain to come this way! On the other hand, from what I've heard, it started raining in Michigan on Saturday and hasn't let up since. I'm glad I'm missing out on that. However, I have a feeling my sis-in-law is not exceptionally happy about having 2 big muddy dogs at her house while I'm gone!

This morning we had to go to the Veteran's hospital in San Antonio so my dad could get a check up. Man, I guess I never really thought that much about veterans: there were so many of them. Why yes, that is a dumb statement when you are at a veteran's hospital. But thank God for places like veteran's hospitals that give them free health care. How lucky we are for those people who fought for our country, including my own dad who is a Vietnam Vet.

We spent the rest of the afternoon having lunch @ Pico de Gallo and then shopping at the Market Square. I wasn't willing to spend the $19 for another ceramic cross for my wall, so I bought three small silver ones each having 1 word: Faith. Hope. Love. I'm not sure where they are going to go in my place, but I just had to have them. That's one thing I will be happy about when I have a real home: being able to buy things for my place and decorating. Not that my place now is decorated, but I don't have a lot of space to put decorative things.

Don't even get me started on the ADORABLE mexican dresses for little girls. I could spend a small fortune, and have no doubt that my dad & Brenda will when there is a lil' Erin running around :)
