No Worries. Or not.

I apologize profusely for my lack of posting for the 1-2 of you who regularly read this blog. (: I should start advertising products on here to pick up my traffic pace and make some money for myself. Girlfriend ain’t too proud to beg!

I had the pleasure (no pun intended) of going to my first Pure Romance party this past weekend. I’ll admit – I was a bit scurred of this company which sells shall we say, intimate objects that involve manual labor. Get it? Got it? Good. To my surprise, they sell things other than those so called toys. They also sell lip balm (but it doubles as a balm for those above the waist/below the neck girls), lotion (edible, might I add) and other things. I went home with $45 worth of goodies in the form of lip balm, lotion & body spray. I’ve become a fan of the body spray until I woke up Wednesday morning with a NASTY rash. Are you serious?! I paid $12.50 for something that breaks me out?! Not cool. On the other hand, the $12.50 jar of vanilla cupcake lip balm is out of this world. Anyone who knows me knows that I carry at least 3 tubes/jars of lip balm on my person at all time. No joke!

In other news, there has been so much going through my head lately. I hate to admit it, but none of it has been exceptionally positive. I really try to get myself out of those “woe is me” days and generally I’m pretty successful at that: I need to remind myself that there are people out there who have REAL problems, as opposed to my “when will my boat come in/stupid pelvic region pain/my dog is the size of a small horse/do I cut my hair or not” dilemmas. Life is good. Life is great. Get over it.

Or not.

I continue to have the same pelvic pain that I had prior to surgery. To say that I feel absolutely defeated about this, is the understatement of the century. I’m tired of it – I want it gone. I want to resume the life I had up until I was 26 when I didn’t know where my ovaries were. I want to stop feeling the pain, to stop complaining about the pain, to stop second guessing myself. I feel like the boy who cried wolf, but I shouldn’t. I know my body better than anyone and when something’s out of whack, I know it. And that something out of whack has been whacked out for over a year now. I feel like a broken record. There may very well be no solution in my immediate future and that frustrates the crap out of me. I shouldn’t have to go on this way. But I guess I have to leave it to the MD’s and hope and pray.

Maybe to distract myself I should start counting my moles. That should keep me busy for a week to ten days.

Something else that might distract me is the fact that I am going to NYC in less than 2 weeks! I am so geeked to return to the city that never sleeps. It’s been five years since I was last there and it was only for 3 days last time. Some of the things I’m hoping to see are:
-Brooklyn Bridge
-Chinatown
-St. Patrick’s Cathedral
-Grand Central Station
-Metropolitan Museum of Art
-Ground Zero
-Ellis Island
-Central Park

Luckily, our hotel is in the heart of Times Square, and I was able to see many things (Rockefeller Plaza, Broadway, Fifth Avenue, Times Square) on my last trip through. The downfall to this trip is that I am going for a work conference, so I won’t have a ton of time to sightsee, but I plan to make the most of it! Any reason to be away from work for a few days when UMF is footing the bill is glorious to me!

So I just decided to fill out the FAFSA online considering I really need to bite this graduate school bullet in the butt and soon. I’m really undecided on where to go, and what I want to do. I did do one class in our MLS program a few years back, and that’s a good program. It’s mutlidisciplinary, so I can take courses in a number of different areas. But I don’t know that I’m totally passionate about that. Ya know? Then I’ve been looking at a Higher Education/Student Affairs program at Eastern that seems right up my alley. It’s not too specific where I wouldn’t be able to find employment outside of my current job, but it’s something that I’m genuinely interested in. I wouldn’t mind staying in higher education for the next 25 years (I’ve got almost 5 under my belt towards retirement. But who is counting?!) so this degree would be suitable. But I worry about driving down there once or twice a week for classes, especially in winter. Lord knows I don’t go any farther than I have to in the fantastic Michigan winter weather! My last choice is Kansas State University. No I’m not crazy about doing a program online, nor at a college out-of-state that I don’t know much about. But it’s a program specifically in College Advising and it totally relates to my current career. I think it would be intriguing, and the tuition isn’t ridiculous for an out-of-state student. Plus doing it online would allow me to kind of pace myself. I just don’t know what I want to do. But I need to decide and soon. A master’s degree isn’t going to finish itself!

I really hope this good weather sticks around...Itchy has been driving me NUTS lately. I never know what he wants (if only dogs could talk!) and he just pounces on me, barks or paws me. I really should be more patient & loving with him. I need to work on that. Anyway, once the weather warms up its so nice to take him for walks - it's great for both of us. I'm thinking one of the first super nice/not terribly muddy days, I'm going to load him up for some adventuring at For-Mar. I think he would like that...now trying to not get lost is the only other obstacle!

And I'm spent...
