I went and saw "The Hangover" last night with my friends. Loved it! It's probably along the lines of some of my other favorite comedies like Wedding Crashers, Superbad and Pineapple Express. Yes, that likely makes me have a sick, twisted sense of humor but so be it! :) Anyway, if you haven't seen it already, check it out.
Speaking of good movies, if you are not already a fan of "Weeds" on Showtime - you must watch it! I'm so addicted! I started watching it on DVD soon after the first season wrapped up and have been hooked since. Yes it is about a suburban mother selling pot, but it's so much more than that. The cast is excellent! Anyway, I just caught up on Season 4 and am loving me some You Tube since I can watch the latest episode the day after it airs for free. Besides, wouldn't you rather have me addicted to a show called "Weeds" than weed itself? Mmmmhmmm, that's what I thought!
So, I have this stow-away kitty in my place right now. I live in an apartment in a house and in the back of the house is a huge addition. My grandpa put this addition in around 1990 I would say, and not much has been done with it since that time. There is drywall, cement & that's about it. Oh yeah, and a bunch of junk. Anyway, somehow this kitten made it's way into a little cubby on the 2nd floor and is hiding back in the rafters. I have been feeding it, so I know it's not hungry, but it doesn't want to come out! I sat in that damn cubby for an hour last night trying to coax it out (I even resorted to meowing, myself) and it's too smart. Even when I tried to stand completely still (must be all those rounds of the game "Statues" I played as a kid) it would figure me out and run away. I'm crossing my fingers that I will get it out this weekend. It's been there since Sunday!
How truly devastating is it that Michael Jackson has passed away? Wacky, sane, good, bad or otherwise - the man had TALENT. He recorded songs that will live forever and were just as classic in 1982 as they are now. It's sad that his trials in life often times outshined who he was artistically - and that was a legend. I realize everyone has their "time" on this Earth, but how truly sad it is that he is leaving behind young children - he was the only parent any of them has ever known.
My two nephews, Matthew & Chase, as well as myself have booked a trip to Texas in August. Who goes to Texas in August, likely their hottest month? Me, apparently! I hadn't planned on going to Texas two times in one year, but considering my dad's health issues and that he has a new pool, I'm very glad to go. We will be there August 12-19 and I cannot wait to get out of the office, be with my dad & stepmom and just relax. :)
On Tuesday I will be 28 years old. Sometimes, I can't help but think "where in the hell did the last 5 years of my life go?" It's like I blinked, and it all passed me by. Don't get me wrong, I have had great times in the last 5 years - but it has gone too fast. I can only wonder I will be in the next 5 years??
Speaking of 5 years, I celebrated my 5 year anniversary with UMF on Sunday. That's pretty much the longest I've stuck with anything...other than school.
