Fly far far away from here

I'm deep in the heart of Texas. Okay, maybe I'm not...but I just decided to go with that saying. Our travels went very smoothly this morning which was a blessing. We had a 30 minute delay in Atlanta, but thanks to some "Handy Manny" and "Special Agent Oso" on my iPod, we did not have any meltdowns with the 4 year old. Even better is that he slept for about an hour and a half on the leg from Atlanta to San Antonio.

I, on the other hand only got about 2 hours of sleep last night. I woke up around 1:30, watched some Weeds, sent some email on my Blackberry and then just decided to get up and be productive. My sis-in-law picked me up at 4:00 and I was ready to hit the road. I don't know how I made it through this day with that little amount of sleep, but I will be glad when night comes and I can get some rest & hopefully sleep in tomorrow!

To say it's hot here is, accurate but a complete understatement. I don't know how people handle this all the time! It was 103 this afternoon...yikes! When we arrived at my dad's house we decided to make a run for the pool. Yeah, it was 90 DEGREES! We stayed in for like 30 minutes and headed back in to the nice, cool air conditioning. You can't even sit in the shade and dry off - it's just too uncomfortable. There has been discussion of going to Sea World tomorrow - I might as well just throw my "I-don't-like-to-sweat-or-get-dirty" qualms out the window and enjoy myself. Otherwise, it's going to be a miserable day.

Stepdad should be nearing the end of his surgery - he went in at 1:00 pm and around 6:00 they told my mom 3 or 4 hours left to go. I still feel bad being here while such a huge event is going on back in Michigan, but I think getting away will do me some good.

I better get off of here - Chase is headed back to the pool with promises of doing a "cannonbulb."
