At first when I see you cry, it makes me smile...

Man, I have really been lacking things to talk about in my blog. Nothing overly exciting has been happening in my life. Other than the fact that it's the last day in July and where in the hell has the summer gone? Someone asked me the other day what I've done with my summer and I was just like...well...umm....not a lot.

One thing I did do, was go to Michigan's Adventure last weekend with my family. I remember being in middle school (Super Kid Day!) and thinking how I wanted to be the high-school girl with her boyfriend at Cedar Point, holding hands with him in the long ass lines. Boy, have I come far in 15 years. When I saw high school kids doing that in line last weekend I wanted to PUKE. Seriously - it's hot, people are waiting in relatively long lines, you have the equivalent to no clothing on and I just really prefer not to see you kiss your boyfriend. Skank. (Okay, I kid about the skank part...I think)

And another thing that I wasn't fond of seeing around the waterpark? The wide array of tattoos. Now, no offense to people who have tattoos...some are very creative and well placed. And I'm sure you wouldn't get something permanently tattoed to you, unless you wanted to have it there for the rest of your life, right? Okay, now let me go on. Boob tattoos, not a big fan of those...I associate "classless" and "boob tattoo" in the same sentence. Tattoos that take up the majority of your back and look like some flag from a country in Ireland, not so cool. Neck tattoos? What happens when you are 80 and old and saggy and your neck looks like a monkey's butt? Will the clever phrase you had tattooed on then look so whitty? My point is this...tattoos, cute. Big tattoos that you can't cover up when your in-laws come over or that take more than 1 article of clothing to cover - not so cute. Maybe I'm just a wuss when it comes to getting a tattoo. But I can't think of one picture or phrase I want to have on my body forever. But then again, I am the girl who had her nose & tongue pierced - but not at the same time, thank you.

The other day I had a prospective student come in and she looked familiar. As soon as I sat down to talk to her, she said "hey, you're X's* (name protected for privacy purposes) friend. And I was like "yeah, I am." Heh. The funny thing is I am not X's friend anymore. But what am I supposed to say? "Oh yeah, it's a really funny story. See, I've known this person for a really long time and she no longer talks to me because of something really stupid. Ask her about it - it's great for a few laughs. Oh wait, you wanted to talk about the MBA program? My bad." Luckily, I don't run into people I know or are vaguely acquainted with very often around here.

I'm going shortly here to get my pictures taken @ Walgreens for my visa. I need a visa to get into Brazil & Bolivia. I was thinking of wearing a tube top & slicking my hair back and not smiling so I looked really scary...you would just see white skin. Wait, I have a little tan...not much though. I freakin' hate getting these pictures taken - the last time I had it done was with my passport pictures in 2002. I was skinnier then too...and they hardly even looked at my pic when I went to Spain. Just stamped it and sent me on my way in a country I had never been to, by myself looking like a deer in the headlights.

I'm wearing a skirt today, call the newspapers! But, that is because I'm going to dinner tonight with my dad. And I want him to think his baby - his youngest & only daughter - can look like a girl from time to time. He usually just sees me in a shirt, capris, flip-flops and my hair back. But, I'm his little girl, nonetheless :)

Here is my dad, isn't he cute? And my stepmom too :)
