Time for a change

I've lived in my current home for 5.5 years now.  I share this lovely little space with a giant dog, Itchy,  and some kitties.  Said dog & kitties like to sleep on my bed...not just when I'm in it, but all the time.  Itchy also has some terrible habits - like taking a rawhide bone onto my bed and chewing it, thus leaving rawhide nastiness on my bedding.  He's even eaten holes into some of my blankets - don't even ask me how.  It's probably due to a lack of exercise, because in the canine world I think everything revolves around exercise.    He's a big lover, a messy dog and doesn't need a ton of attention but when he does you better stop what you're doing and give it to him.

Anyway, the last few years I have totally avoided any type of good bedding.  What's the point?  The pets will just mess it up and it will look icky before I know it.  I should mention I used to have a cat, Delaney, who was a puker.  She threw up ALL the time - anywhere...and as she liked to sleep on my bed, she would often throw up there.  That's another reason I avoided anything good...I'd get home from work and have to peel everything off my bed & start all over again.

I decided I was tired of this.  I've wanted another down comforter for like the last 6 years but wouldn't break down and buy one.  Finally, this weekend I found one on sale.  But with a down comforter, comes the duvet...

Yes, I realize one of the pillows is upside down - forgive me.  I love pink, and my walls are painted a sage green.  This was a perfect fit.  It's Nautica and I got it at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $60.

I picked up the sea green pillows behind it for $4 for the set at Target.  They are made out of bamboo and they are so soft!  They are a standard size which I think means you could fit 3 pillows into each pillowcase.

Then, I got a little carried away...

I found this adorably cute rug in the little girl's bedroom section of Target.  I love it!

I have never had a nightstand, and I still don't.  I guess I'm waiting for when I actually get married to invest in good bedroom future.  For now, this little table will do.  I also bought the lamp and the little white picture frame too.  I haven't decided what picture to put in it yet.

I got this basket at TJ Maxx for like $15 because I thought it would look great under the white table and would be a perfect place to store the 10 books I constantly keep on my night stand.  It was too big to fit under the table, but I think I can find a good use for it.  I also picked up the little rug behind it that matches quite well at TJ Maxx :)  For some dumb reason I like stepping on a rug when I get out of bed, rather than the wood floor.

Lastly, a cute little piece of art to go onto a bare wall.  It's pink and has a kitten - it's perfect!  :)

I love these prints - I bought them off art.com when I was in college and got some cheap frames to go with them.

My pretty little window.  I love the valance (had to balloon it up myself!) and the cross I got in San Antonio a few years ago.

This is a picture I received for Christmas for a coworker.  She said she had been praying to the Virgin and wasn't sure who the picture was for.  Then it occured to her that she was praying for my future husband.  The picture has been standing on a tv tray in my living room since I got it, so I figured it was time to hang it up.  It needs to be tweaked, but it works :)

Something funny to note - the brown spot high on the wall in that picture is peanut butter.  When Itchy would get wound up a few years ago, I would fill his Kong with peanut butter and throw it around the house for him to play fetch.  I must have gotten carried away!

Okay, now you've seen my room.  It's a good thing I'm single - I don't think a guy would like all that pink!!

Finally, let me just mention that in rewatching the Grammy's (DVR'ed it) I cry EVERY TIME I watch Pink's performance.  Breathtaking!!
