Talk that slick talk

During the 2 weeks that I was travelling, I had a constant companion: my UM-Flint table cover/skirt. We sat at tables together, I carried it in my suitcase, I folded and unfolded it more times than I care to count. So when it came time to pull out a table cover for the open house event I am covering here on campus at this very moment, I just loaded up my favorite table cover again.

Yeah, it's too small. Apparently tables in the USA are ginormous compared to those in Latin America. I have 2 hideous ends poking out of my table - plain ol' non-covered wood table top - but who will even notice? I'm surrounded by undergraduate tables and undergraduate students. I'm just the table people look at in dismay and confusion.

Yesterday I took a class in Ann Arbor on "Working with Difficult People aka People You Can't Stand." Despite the fact that I had a hard time keeping my eyes open, I managed to learn the different personality types in the work place:

-Sniper
-Tank
-Grenade
-Know-it-all
-Yes Person
-No Person
-Maybe Person
-Think-they-know-it-all

Each has traits, so I'm of course trying to place everyone I know into a "type." Next Friday I will learn how to deal with these people. And maybe figure out why I am myself.

Last night I went to Rachel's new digs in Grand Blanc and had a spectacular dinner: Taco Bell & Malbec wine. The Taco Bell was less than stellar but the Malbec (a steal at Oliver T's at $9.99 which was impressive...until I discovered that it was bottled in NEW YORK!) was simply divine.

I guess I will get back to the event I am working. I would much rather be in my nice, warm bed all cuddled up and sound asleep. But sometimes you have to take one for the team, right? Good thing I like my team.

Tomorrow I will be reunited with 4 of my favorite people on the planet: I can't wait.
