Asking too much?

  • I have become the office turtle again (well as far as I know). I worked out 4 days last week and then became dormant again
  • Purchased some $4.44 baby orajel this weekend. I have this terrible little sore in my gums and it is painful. Eating spicy food over the weekend probably didn’t help. Anyway, the orajel helps a bit and tastes just like the topical they give you at the dentist before they give you the novacaine. Oh, and it’s super fun when it makes the tip of my tongue numb. No wonder babies like it!
  • I’m house/dog-sitting for my brother this week while his family is on vacation. He bought his hyperactive/annoying dog these treats that supposedly “calm” his nervous system. What a waste of $5!
  • Said dog drinks out of the toilet and only the toilet. He then slobbers toilet water all over the bathroom floor for me and my bare feet to walk in. Nice. This action is usually followed with a hardy “goddamnit!” on my part.
  • Apparently I have no endocervical cells…for the 4th time in a row. Sweet!
  • My poor great-grandma told me yesterday that she doesn’t even know who she is anymore. So sad…it’s hard to see someone you love so much become so old & frail
  • I go to Texas in T-26 days, boooooyyyyyy!
  • My nephew played his first 6th grade basketball game last week. The score was like 72 to 10. His team scored 10. When I asked him if he scored any points he said “no, only special people did.” Apparently that coach has a great method going for him.
  • There is a possibility I may very well overfeed my brother’s beta fish. You are only supposed to give him 2-4 pellets twice/day. When he swims to the front of the tank when he’s already been fed I think he’s still hungry and feed him more.
  • Nine days out of ten, my cats drive me crazy. They constantly want to be fed, let outside, let inside & to have their litter boxes cleaned. They get under my feet when I’m walking, stick their noses in what I’m eating, climb on my cupboards and want to be petted as soon as I’m still for 2 seconds. But how I love those monsters! I love the weight of their little 8 pound bodies against my feet when I’m sleeping and how Libby comes and lays at my side when my alarm clock goes off in the morning. I even miss them when I’m away from them for a night. *sigh* I think this is a sign that I’m destined to grow old as a cat lady!
  • Do you know how people have songs for their call tones? Like when it says “Please enjoy the music while your party is reached?” I often wonder what song I would pick. Sometimes I think the theme to “Growing Pains.” Other times I totally think “PYT” by Michael Jackson. Those are just some ideas…I would likely go with something totally boring and blah.
  • I have averaged one pop per week in the last 3 weeks. This is such a HUGE step for me! I’m the girl who used to drink at least one pop a day – sometimes more, simply out of convenience. Yesterday I got a root beer with my lunch and it didn’t even taste the same. Too carbonated! I’m quickly becoming an iced tea girl!
  • Bad food consumption of the weekend: Qdoba nachos (how I love thee)
  • Good food consumption of the weekend: Grilled salmon (how wonderful thou art)
  • Adele won a couple of Grammy’s last night. I just want y’all to know that I downloaded her CD off iTunes many moons ago. She’s that good. And I recommend checking her out if you haven’t already! Grammy’s don’t lie!
  • Next week I’m going to get $100 to have someone degrade & belittle me. They are having UM people come up and give wellness assessments to all willing faculty/staff members. This assessment involves BMI, fat calibers, the whole 9 yards. Generally, I get my fill of this from Dr. each year. But I’m getting paid $100 to participate. (Fat) homegirl needs some mon-eh!
  • Another CD that is great but I did not in fact purchase – Robert Plant & Alison Krauss’ “Raising Sand.” It’s way good and also won quite a few Grammy’s. And for the record, though I did not legally purchase it myself, my mom did. I just ripped it off her. Word to my motha’!
  • I caught up on quite a bit of my beloved “Jon & Kate Plus 8” this weekend. Watching the ones where they go to Hawaii has totally convinced me that I must go to Hawaii and soon.
  • In reference to above comment, I also must win the lottery and soon in order to finance a trip to Hawaii.
  • It’s very reassuring when you ask your doctor, “is this something to worry about?” and her reply is “I don’t think so.”
  • I love hummus.
  • I don’t like baked potatoes. How can I not like them? I don’t know. But I don’t.
