Anytime she goes away

Yes, I'm one of those people who posts about my pets. But it's totally relative, I swear.

Above are my 2 cats in their natural habitat, also known as my bed. If they are not outside or eating, they are generally on my bed, napping. I have a comforter for my bed, but I choose to cover it with the above brown tapestry looking thing so that I don't have to wash my comforter every week. These girls are hairy little beasts. Luckily they don't sleep on my pillows because there is nothing worse than laying your head down in cat hair.

And if I don't make my bed, this is what I find.
On with my story for today...
So last night I was up & down doing laundry in the basement. On one of the trips back into the house I picked one of the cats up to take her into the house with me. Well I must have made some noise or did something to spook her because she freaked out and latched her claws into my neck.
This is the after effects of my feline attack. Now who cares to tell me I am NOT allergic to cats? Last year I told J that I wanted to be allergy tested. She told me that basically, unless I plan to get rid of my cats, there is no point in having my allergies tested. Maybe if I showed her this picture she might disagree. Luckily, it healed up relatively well overnight and I don't look like a small child tried to strangle me.
Prior to this unfortunate incident, I went over to my grandma's for dinner with her and my brother's family. Matthew - despite his 'Jesus Rocks' guitar pick necklace and Hollister shirt (this is his coolest shirt, he says) looks like a total geek with his glasses sliding down. I'm sure he would be pleased to know I'm posting this on my blog :) Chase on the other hand decided to run around in his pants...for most of the evening. Later on it turned out to be just his undies.

Chase is quite the 4 year old little character. Whenever you try to take pictures of him, he squints his face up and then tells you "I want to see it!" as soon as the flash goes off. Child would not know what to do with a non-digital camera!

In the picture below I swear his eyebrows make him a perfect candidate to portray The Joker from Batman, but whatever. I don't remember if this is before or after he told me to "smell" his "armpit." Such a boy!!
In other news, I have been keeping very busy. I attempted homemade tortillas this weekend out of pure boredom on Saturday afternoon. I impressed myself with the finished product, but have quite a ways to go before I let family and/or friends eat them. They were more square than round and seemed a little thick. But I would take my square pita-like tortillas anyday over store bought ones!
I hurt my back at work last week and had to fill out a "work-related-injury" report. Boy was that fun! I am the queen of back injuries! It's not like I purposely do it, but if I move the wrong way, pick something up with my back rather than legs or simply step on uneven ground (like last fall @ my mom's) my back gets all jacked up. Luckily, I have Motrin 800's and muscle relaxers on hand for when this happens. But since it occured at work I had to get it checked out...and to top that all off, it happened on the afternoon that we were having our open house! Anyway, I'm as good as new now.
Other stuff is going on and keeping me busy, nothing exceptionally notable. It's life, ya know? I'm going to Texas in 12 days and I cannot wait to see my dad, stepmom, brother & to just relax for a week. I might be patting my own back, but I think I deserve it :)
