Memorial Day weekend

This weekend I took Friday off and enjoyed a much, much needed break from reality. I took all 3 of my nephews & my dog up to my mom's place in Big Rapids for the weekend. The forecast outlook was great, the boys were excited to go and I was looking forward to the idea of being lazy.

This is Chase on the car ride home from Gaylord on Sunday night. He ate a chocolate ice cream cone at Dairy Queen and promptly passed out on my shoulder.

This is Chase's foot. He insisted I paint his toenails. My compromise was to paint only his big toe on each foot and in the manly color of black.

I love the way the light shines in on this picture. This was us pretending to sleep. The other pictures didn't come out nearly as well - Chase isn't a good fake sleeper.

Matthew Jaryn, almost 13 years old. He's into Hollister, AE, girls, texting, alternative music, getting straight A's, riding his dirtbike and football.

And apparently big stuffed bears too.

Itchy on the car ride up. Dog drove me nuts! But then again we were in a G6 with me, 2 teenagers, a child in a booster seat and him. I don't know what was worse - the actual car ride or vacuuming out his hair the next day!

What do you do with a 4 year old on long car rides? Take cheesy pictures.
