Loose lips may sink ships

As the day is slowly come to an end, and my desk is getting emptier and emptier, I can't help but think of all the good things that will come with getting my very own office. My desk (as seen above) has never been so naked and sans character! Anyway, such highlights of my new office include:

-Being able to eat at my desk and not worry about someone walking in or calling me at that moment, when I have my mouth full.

-Not having to constantly answer my phone "Office of the Associate Provost & Graduate Programs; this is Erin."

-Being able to take my shoes off in my office and not worry about it. Especially with my pair of leather flats that tend to make my feet smell (sorry, but it is the truth)

-I can have people come in and sit down and talk just to me, one-on-one. They don't have to talk to me and whomever is out in the front office area.

-I don't have to tell someone "I'm going to the bathroom now."

-Music? I can listen to whatever I want as loud as I want.

-Mary will be right next door. You could not ask for a better office neighbor than Mary Deibis, Staff Recognition Receipient for 2008.

-I don't have to minimize my screen when I am looking on a non-work related website.

-I get a bookshelf and filing cabinet.

-I will have more than 2 drawers to stuff my crap in.

-No more opening mail or stamping it.

-I can talk socially on the phone and not have someone else listening in on my conversation.

-Closing the door during my lunch and taking a nap will be entirely acceptable.

That's all I have for now. It's pretty darn great, is my point.
