Sidetracked/Procrastination/Whatever you want to call it

I was at a Labor day cookout today with my beloved friends the V family, and left after about 3 hours to come home and do homework.  I have been home for 2 hours now - and I have yet to open a book.  Don't tell the V family though!  Really though, it was in my best interest to leave if I am to accomplish any schoolwork this evening...they were in the midst of a "wine tasting" when I decided to leave.  Erin+wine+message board posts=not coherent thoughts!  Anyway, I will get moving with the schoolwork soon here.  My due date for all the things I have to work on for both classes is tomorrow at midnight.  You can take the girl away from school for 5 years but you can't take away the procrastination habits!

I'm quite sure that I can confidently say - and everyone currently in the state of Michigan will back me up - I AM SO OVER THE MOSQUITOES THIS TIME OF YEAR!  I got a few bites on my neck and I seriously look like someone tried to choke me from all of the scratching I have done.  But, I think I can also confidently say that bites on the feet & hands are the ones that bother me the worst!

On Saturday I went to my very first game at the Big House (aka Michigan stadium).  My coworker Jon has season tickets but was unable to attend this game.  Since they were playing (or versing as Roman says!) Western (my alma mater, go broncos!) he thought I might like the tickets.  I know absolutely nothing about football.  I know the "object" of the game, but I don't know anything about downs, flags, etc.  Regardless, I asked my friend Andrea if she wanted to come with me and we headed out Saturday afternoon for Ann Arbor.

Just as procrastination hasn't changed since my college days, neither has my favorite part of college football: tailgating :)  So we didn't tailgate in the traditional sense, but we pulled over on Main Street and happened upon $1 drafts at Mongolian BBQ.  What a steal!  We eventually made our way to the stadium after a few beers, rock star parking (to the tune of $20) and the first quarter.  The seats were small, the stadium was packed and it was hot out.  We stayed 'til half time (yes, I'm sure you football fans are thinking "what a waste!"), and called it a day.  Andrea & I just aren't the type of girls to like sweating in public places with unfamiliar people.  Oh, and did I mention WMU was losing?

It was a great day, with or without the game.  We ended the day @ this awesome Greek restaurant on Main Street and made our way home.  This day just reaffirmed to me my love of Ann Arbor.  I would love to move there, but am once again reminded of what is meant to be, will be.  :)
