Time for a new fence

I'm on a blogging roll, wow.  I might get on a bigger role when my "MacBook for Dummies" book comes from half.com that I ordered today.  It will be great to learn all the cool things this (expensive) baby can do.  I'm still in love with the glowing apple, though :)

Okay, why is it that when my cats are "big time wrestling" (that's what my brother used to call it when we were kids) one of them has to meow like they are dying?  Like the blood curdling meow of danger.  Ugh, I hate it!!  It's even more fun when they do it at night...

Anyhoo, tonight we had a GP open house and my friend Rachel & I made plans to have dinner at 501 downtown afterward.  If you haven't been there - check it out.  Awesome food, great location in downtown Flint and a great atmosphere.  The only thing I can complain about is that the acoustics kind of stink with the high ceilings in a low space.  I digress.

Rachel & I go and have a great dinner.  I get my bill & hand over my debit card which is my life line.  I very rarely have cash on me, I use my debit card for everything.  The waitress comes back and tells me she ran it twice and it was declined.  Okay, I think.  I got paid today.  I used my card twice online to buy things this morning (like the MacBook book) and got cash out for lunch.  I know there is money in there.  I call the bank.  Their system is down.  System is down = you can't use your card.  WTF?!  The reason I know this is because it has happened before.  I went to Starbucks one morning and my card was declined.  I call the bank after I left Starbucks (with a free coffee) and they said "oh, try it again now...our system was down."  Okay, well this is after I had left.  Seriously, Dort Federal?  This has happened twice.  Not cool.  I look like a broke biotch!  Luckily, Rachel paid for my meal and on my way home I withdrew money with no problem.  It might be time to get a new bank/credit union.  My dad opened that account for me when I was like 8 though.  Oh well.  I can't carry cash all the time.  Then I just spend it needlessly.  Like on M&M's and Diet Cokes in the vending machine which is conveniently RIGHT across the hall.
