Christmas 200-oh-how-i-ate

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you had a wonderful day full of love, faith, family and good food. I know I did!

Food, food, food. I bought a Wii last week with the money my dad gave me for Christmas. Within the first 2 days of having this I realized how out of shape I am (and what J has been trying to tell me!) because I was suffering from what I like to refer to as Wii arm from bowling/baseball/boxing. The good news is my body quickly adjusted and I even lost three pounds in like 5 days.

And then this week came.

On Monday I made Christmas cookies with M, L & C. Luckily, I only ate 1.5 cookies. I then went on to eat terribly unhealthy but oh so delicious Mexican food for dinner. On Tuesday I made Christmas cookies with my nephews. My mother was on a baking spree and also made a key lime pie, no bake cookies (a family FAVORITE) and pistachio bread...I may have eaten something not sugar laced for dinner, but I can't remember. Last night I ate junk, more junk and some sub sandwich. Today, my plate consisted of:

-ham
-turkey
-green beans
-roll
-cheese
-mashed potatoes & gravy
-cheesy potatoes
-twice baked potatoes
-dressing

Yeah, I ate like 1 spoonful of the green beans and then went back to my love affair with potatoes. I think we may have overdone it with the potatoes, but oh well. Some potatoe farmers in Idaho are thankful for my family this holiday.

I also had some pie for dessert and cookies throughout the day. The fact that I am still awake at 11:30 is a testament to the turkey induced coma I fell into upon the completion of dishes.

Blah.

With every year, I tend to spend more on Christmas gifts. This may very well be a reflection of the fact that I make more money each year, but whatever. I also find that it is a fact that I am getting older that I look forward with anticipation to others opening their gifts, as opposed to what I am getting.

However, a few noteworthy gifts I received this year:

-A new toilet seat. I'm not even kidding - I've been wanting one since I moved in this joint, but knew I would never buy one myself. Santa finally pulled through for me & my toosh this year.
-A crock pot
-Pots & pans
-An adorable butterfly drawing that Matthew drew & framed for me. It is already hanging on my wall in the hallway (:
-NKOTB's greatest hits!
-A snow shovel

I asked for the majority of these things and luckily my wishes were granted. I have a great family. I also still get such a thrill watching my nephews tear through their gifts. They are what Christmas is all about. Well, other than you, Jesus. My bad.

My Christmas tree survived this year. There have been no bulb casualties - well 1 the first night - but that is it. It has not been knocked down. Only 2 presents were significantly damanged wrap wise.

The best gift of all this Christmas for me? My health. Yes, my ovary is "kicking" tonight as I like to call it. But I would rather have that than the alternative. And I get to start my Yaz on Sunday...hopefully that will hold the key.

One week left of vacation. I am going with the family tomorrow to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
