"Who balded me?"

My mom & stepdad have become obsessed with my Wii. It has not physically been to my house - it's rightful owner - for over a week now. It is more fun to play with others, so I don't mind leaving it there. But my mom is at the point where she is convinced that she has to have one and soon. My stepdad pretty much threw his shoulder out playing baseball and scuffed the floor up playing tennis.

We take our Wii seriously. I am now a "pro" bowler and at like 919 with tennis. I am obsessed with tennis. I have to get to pro by like tomorrow...now if I could just play tennis in real life and get a 200+ in a real game of bowling, I might go somewhere in life. But no, I'm stuck with a Mii and a video game to live out my wildest sports dreams.

My mom & I went to Babies R Us today to look for a gift for Jim's niece who is having a baby GIRL. I will be completely honest and say that going there kinda depressed me. I guess I always thought at this age that I would have a baby and be married. I look at all those layettes and clothes and bedding and just long for the day when I will have to plan for all of that. I think it depressed me further because of the PCOS diagnosis and the problems I may encounter in the future with conceiving. But all that girl stuff - I will be in SO much trouble if I have a baby girl. It was so hard for my mom & I both to pick out just a few things for this baby girl...we could have spent hours & thousands, hands down! Anyway, I'm not trying to throw myself a pity party. Everything happens in life for a reason and I will be a mommy when the timing is right in whichever manner God intended. But that doesn't mean that for a few hours today, that I didn't long for what I don't yet have.

The year is quickly coming to a close and I have high hopes for 2009. I will be 28. I will get paid $100 by UMF in January to have someone tell me I need to lose weight and get healthier. I will make a valid effort at trying to lose weight and get healthier. I will go on a good vacation. I will get a new car. I will rekindle my faith. I will be a good daughter, sister, and aunt . I will keep in touch with old friends. I will be a better dog owner. I will live, love and laugh each and every day.

PS - the title of this post is a quote from my stepdad tonight. He has a bit of a bald spot, so my mom & I thought it would be funny to change his Mii to a bald guy. He stepped up to bowl and quickly noticed, and yelled "who balded me?!" We laughed our heads off (:
