A few favorites and future hopes

Great events that made 2008 awesome (in no particular order):

1. I got a promotion at work. Didn't get a big salary increase, but I got my own office.
2. I was selected to represent UMF throughout 5 countries in South America. Countries I likely would not have seen elsewise and an unforgettable trip.
3. Seeing a tango in Buenos Aires.
4. Celebrating Great Grandma Joyce's 100th birthday in January with all of her friends & our family.
5. Braving the friendly skies with all 3 nephews to go to San Antonio to visit my dad for almost a week.
6. A night out with great friends in Austin.
7. All the nights at Bar Louie.
10. Benita welcomed a healthy baby boy into her family in September
11. Great Grandma made it to my grandma's house for Christmas dinner - the first time in at least 4 years
12. I got a Wii (:
13. My grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. She is now in remission.
14. My stepdad was in for the fight of his life with prostate cancer. He is now also in remission.
15. My dad remains healthy despite his numerous challenges.
16. Ryan came home for a visit. I got to see him in a drunken stooper rapping with my cousin at Sharky's.
17. George W. Bush's economic stimulus $$
18. A new president was elected & history was made.
19. Britney Spears bounced back from near insanity and perhaps death.
20. I am healthy, loved & alive. What more could I ask for?

Reasons why I'm glad 2008 is over:

1. I had a tooth pulled. It took 2 hours and was stressful.
2. I was finally diagnosed after 11 months of on-and-off problems with PCOS.
3. Hopefully High School Musical will now go away.
4. I'm hopeful that I will lose weight in 2009 & will look back on myself at this time last year and be healthier.
5. I survived another season of watching my nephew play football & still remain totally clueless to this sport.
6. I'm hopeful that 2009 will be a year of good health for my entire family.
7. One less year that I have this pain-in-the-rear G6.
8. I will get older...and perhaps wiser in 2009.
9. I hope to save money in 2009 by lessening the alcohol consumption I so enjoyed in 2008.
10. George W. Bush's days are exceptionally limited

What I'm looking forward to in 2009:

1. Going to NAGAP in NYC (*fingers crossed*)
2. A vacation. Anywhere warm. ASAP.
3. Starting work on my master's.
4. Exercising & eating healthier.
5. Breaking in my new crockpot & pots and pans.
6. Having less ovary related problems.
7. The neverending search for Mr. Right.
8. My dad hopefully coming home for Christmas. And maybe my brother Ryan too.
9. A new president.
10. More time with family & friends
11. More vacation time (5 weeks total/year!)
13. Getting a new car - at this point a Chevy Malibu or Saturn Aura
14. Blogging as much as I can.
15. Kicking my addiction to nasal spray.
16. Becoming involved in church again.
17. Staying healthy & happy.
18. Being a better pet owner.
19. Planning a graduation event for UMF graduate graduates. (Did that make any sense?)
20. Turning 28. Mostly because it's inevitable.

Happy 2009, y'all.
